Mandates

The DBT-NECAB has the following composite objectives -

• Gene technology for crop improvement (Programme I)

• Gene mining and molecular breeding (Programme II)

• Microbial gene prospecting (Programme III)

• Provide service to the farmers of NE region through biofertilizers and biopesticides (Programme IVA & IVB)

• Develop human resources and capacity building

• Support innovative R&D projects in the agricultural biotechnology in the NE region
