A Talk on “Role of Microbial Communities for Animal and Plant Health” was delivered on 3rd March 2025 at 4 PM in the Seminar Hall of the DBT-NECAB New Building by Dr. Sharmila Mande, FNA, FNAE, who currently holds the prestigious Ayush Distinguished Scientist Chair at the Ministry of Ayush. She is also a Visiting Professor at IISER Thiruvananthapuram, IIT Gandhinagar, and IIT Kanpur, and serves as an Advisor at TCS Research, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.

Dr. Mande provided an insightful discourse on the critical role of microbial communities in sustaining animal and plant health. She highlighted recent advancements in microbial research, emphasizing their potential in improving agricultural productivity, disease resistance, and environmental sustainability. The talk also explored the application of computational biology and data-driven approaches in microbiome research.
